Why is microwave oven considered a military invention?

Most of us have microwave opens in our homes....Don't we? And I'm sure most of our parents would have remarked on how useful it is, when we handled it roughly....Well, however these microwave ovens were not intended for home use. It was a military invention. Here's the main question: Why is microwave oven considered a military invention? Let's explore it as always!

During World War II, two scientists invented the magnetron, which is a tube that produces microwaves. Microwaves are the shortest radio waves. It was the discovery of their reaction to metals that led to the invention of the radar, which has important military purposes.

The idea of using microwaves to cook food was discovered by Percy Spencer, who was working for a company called Raytheon. He discovered that microwaves could cook food, quite by accident, when he found that a bar of chocolate in his pocket had melted due to its exposure to microwaves. Popcorn was the first food that he deliberately micro-waved for cooking.

The first microwave oven, produced in 1946, was called the Radar Range. It was very large and expensive. Later, smaller, cheapest models were adopted for faster, more convenient cooking at home.

I seriously hope even we all get lucky and later on put in our hard work like him and invent something.
