Were there Doctors in Stone age?

Many of us want to be a doctor, isn't it? But before that lets know its history....! Ever wondered about doctors in stone age? Sounds interesting right?  Let's now explore it!

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there were no doctors in the stone age. However, there were wise men who knew how to use plants to cure things like upset tummy.

In stone age, illness was often thought to be evil spirits. Eight thousand years old skulls have been discovered with holes in them.

This suggests that early 'doctors' even tried their hands at operation, and cut holes in the skull of a patient, probably to let evil spirits escape!  At least sometimes people survived the 'operation' because the bone grew back.

In about 3000 BC the curtain rises on Egyptian civilization. In a civilized society some people did specialized jobs. One of these was the doctor.
The first doctor known to history was Sekhet-eanach who 'healed the pharaoh's nostrils'.

I seriously am happy to not belong to that period...Hole in the skull, seriously?
