How can we create a second earth?

With the increasing population and decreasing resources, we might need a second earth. Since there is no second earth, is it possible that we can create one using "Terraformation" process?

Terraforming (literally, "Earth-shaping") of a planet, moon, or other body is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying it's atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology to be similar to the environment of Earth to make it habitable by Earth-like life.

Any possible planet where this could happen is Mars, because after all its right next to our planet....! Well what do we have to work with? 

Mars's atmosphere is really thin, maybe only 1% of what we have on earth! and its made up of carbon dioxide, thus toxic to human. And it is farther away from the SUN, means the temperature is as low as -63°C. On top of that it has no magnetic fields. So it can't protect against radiations and the gravity on it is 1/3rd of Earth's gravity....So there is a lot that we need to change! 

Lets start with the atmosphere, we will have to make the atmosphere thicker and change its composition . One way to do it is by inducing greenhouse effect, to increase the temperature such that it is suitable to humans...We can do this using a bunch of different ways, like using methane, carbon dioxide or even by ammonia. We can release that ammonia by smashing ice ridge comets from the outer solar system and since ammonia is mostly nitrogen by weight, once we add oxygen by plant life, we can have an atmosphere pretty similar to earth. And hence,humans can survive with this thick atmosphere. From here on terraformation is an easy job...we can melt Mars polar ice and have water. Seems easy right?

But there is one problem which is a major one! 

Remember there is no magnetic fields on Mars? And hence, even if we create an atmosphere it will eventually strip away due to due to solar winds and power radiations!
As a conclusion Mars isn't the best option! 

           "So lets just focus on protecting our environment!"
